Why does the Phillips pan head self tapping screw break?

Today one of a customer reached out Heatscrew and they said that they bought some phillips pan self tapping screw online but these screws head broken when used.
They asked if we could help them solve this problem

After receiving the picture of the broken screws from customer.we asked them what the size of this screw was and if there was a drawing,and there was a difference between the size of the sample and the drawing.

After checking with customer,we confirmed that there has two reasons that make this self tapping screw broken.One is the groove is too deep and the other is that the head diameter is too large and thread dia is too small,the force area is not enough

We recommend to make the groove of the screw head a little shallower,and add an R angle under the head to increase the force area so this issue can be resloved.
